“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” ~Albert Camus
I have been fascinated by the unique quality of each and every leaf, often left to decompose in the fall. For many years I produced large acrylic paintings of individual leaves. In The 1,000 Leaves Project, I am using a photograph of one leaf as my starting point and using that image to explore the infinite number of color expressions one leaf can provide. Lately, I have been combining these photographs with other photos of leaves and tree bark, as well as merging these images with painting compositions. It has become a spiritual practice for me, and I have been producing at least two or three of these compositions every week for the past few years. I hope you find them as intriguing as I have found them exciting to produce.
All compositions are available for sale and can be printed on Hahnemühle William Turner Watercolor using Archival Inks up to 60" on its longest side. If interested, use the contact form to reach out to us for a quote.
